Medina Lake Loop

Activities Available:

This one can be a little bumpy in places, but it will take you to Quihi (for some shooting and dancing) and over to Medina Lake (for some fishing and swimming) and then to Bandera (for some roping and riding). Start in Bandera and take 173 south until you come to 251 where you will take a left onto a dirt road. ·You will stay on 251 for quite a while and it should take you down to 2676 where you will turn to the left. ·Stay on 2676 and it will take you to Quihi (look for the Gun Club, which is where the shooting and dancing come in). ·After traveling through Quihi stay on 2676 and it will twist and turn a bit and eventually on your left you should see CR 271 where you will take a left. If you cross the Medina River you have gone too far.·This will take you up towards the dam and Mico on a somewhat bumpy, paved road, but it is worth the trip because there are some scenic sites up by the dam.·Stay on 271 and it will take you by the Oasis, Joe’s Place and up to the Dancing Bear. ·Once you get to 1283 turn left and see whether Pop’s Place is open for the season. ·1283 will take you to the Lakehills Ice House at the intersection of 1283 and Park Road 37 if you need to stop by there for some supplies. ·If you don’t feel like going down to the water, you can just stay on 1283 and head up to Pipe Creek where you will turn left on 16 (west) and head back to Bandera.
