Anhalt Hall

This place has been around since the early 1900s and is a great example of the meeting places used by many of the old German Farmers’ Associations. It was designed by the same person who designed Gruene Hall and the bowed ceiling rafters used here create a look inside the hall that is different from many of the other old dance halls in the Hill Country that use conventional trusses. Be sure to check their website to see when they will be featuring Mayfest, Octoberfest and the annual tractor pull. They also recently started having dances about once a month and the huge dance floor is one of the best in Texas. There is a porch on the east side of the hall if you want to catch a breath of fresh air. This is a great place to visit if you are interested in seeing ¬†how things looked back in the old days. Take Hwy 46 from the Hwy 46 & Hwy 281 intersection 4.1 miles towards Boerne and Anhalt Road will turn to the right. Follow the road to the end and cross the cattle guard to the left.
