Enjoy the Texas Hill Country

This beautiful preserve offers a hiking trail, a swell waterfall during wet periods and, of course, a cave. This is a great place for a hike among the oak and cypress trees and to take some wildlife photos and there is an educational center onsite if you want to learn a little more about the location. The night tours they offer can be a lot of fun as well. While you are out this way you really should consider stopping by Hamilton Pool, especially if you have never been there because it is absolutely gorgeous. Bert and Ernie’s place is up in this neck of the woods if you want to see whether they are having any live music in the evening. They should be adding some more land to the preserve soon to increase its size so call them for more information. To get to the preserve, take Hamilton Pool Road/FM 3238 from Hwy 71 and pass the entrance to Hamilton Pool. The preserve is about one mile down the road.
