Enjoy the Texas Hill Country

This is one of those 335 crossings of the Nueces River you can use for swimming or for a put in at Vance for a kayak trip when the water is up. This is about a 6 mile trip down to Barksdale and you will want to use the county road 221 crossing in Barksdale for a take out point. This area is awful nice when the water is up and you should expect to encounter some ledges and small rapids along this stretch of the stream. Be sure to call Clear Creek Outfitters to get river flow information before heading out this way. Those folks could also help you with alternative put in and take out locations and rent you a kayak if you need one.
