Cabins and Other Lodgings, Camping, Fishing, River Outfitters, Swimming Holes, Tube Rental ServicesTubes, kayaks, and rafts are available at this camping and swimming facility located above the 4th crossing of River Road on the gosh durn pretty Guadalupe River just south of Sattler and upstream of dam number 4, S Turn Rapids, and Ponderosa Ripple. This is a place popular with tubers and it also is a good place on the river to go swimming. Lots of people put there tubes in at the Shoe and take out here. This also is a nice stretch of the river to go paddling if the flows are at least 1,200 cfs because nobody will be on tubes at those flows. Trout potentially are available at this location thanks to the TPWD. No pets are allowed during the summer months. They have 1, 2 and 3 bedroom cottages, RV sites and an onsite store available for your use. Take loop 337 west from New Braunfels and turn right onto River Road at the Shell station and then turn right at Amigo Mel’s and keep on going over all four of the crossings until you come to this place, which will be on the right.
