Pedernales Falls State Park

The primary feature of this 5,217-acre park is of course the Pedernales Falls, which can quickly be transformed from serene to super-bad in just a few minutes during flashflood conditions. Swimming is allowed in the park, but the state has 86′d swimming at the falls. “Ah Mike me lad, the old days, they are gone forever.” Hiking is allowed in close proximity to the falls and there are extensive hiking, mountain bike and equestrian trails in other portions of the park. The trails rate as relatively easy on the difficulty scale, but be careful nonetheless if you are biking. A birding/nature photography blind also is available for your use. Fishing for perch, bass and catfish is available as well. Pets kept on a leash are OK.
