This business has been around for decades and is located at the intersection of State Road 127 and the fabulous Frio River near charming Concan, which we think was named after a Mexican gambling game or something like that. They rent tubes and also offer hayrides and yes they have a famous, well-loved swimming hole on this sweet stretch of this gorgeous spring-fed river. As a matter of fact, the swimming hole often times is listed on the top ten lists we have reviewed. Hard to beat spring-fed streams during the summer and this is one of the better ones. If you are coming out to enjoy the water be sure to contact the owners beforehand because the Frio often runs low during the warm weather months. When it is flowing, however, it is absolutely beautiful. They also have a store onsite and cabins are available, some of which have fireplaces. The good folks here might be able to suggest some put in and take out locations for a paddle trip and they also offer a shuttle service as well. One option could be to put in at the 348/Seven Bluff Crossing for a 4.5 mile trip back down to Neal’s. The folks at Josh’s can rent you a kayak if you need one. Do not mind the folks with binoculars. Unlike some of the bino-toting pervs at Hippie Hollow these people probably are birding because 100s of species can be found at this location depending on the season.
