Enjoy the Texas Hill Country

This relatively new park gives access to a part of the Guadalupe River that was long known only to locals up until recently. When the water is up this is a very pretty stretch of the river down from Comfort. You can bring the dog, but you need to keep it on a leash. One of the good things about this park is that it creates a new easy to get to take out point for a paddle trip, which wasn’t available on this part of the watercourse because of parking limitations. Now you can put in on High Street in Comfort and then paddle the approximately 7.5 miles down to the Lower River Bend Road Crossing, which you can access at this park, if you want to take a kayak trip. You get to the park by taking River Bend Road, which is a little ways east of Comfort off of 473. Contact Kerrville Kayak and Canoe for river flow information.
