Enjoy the Texas Hill Country

Come see the hall that was rescued from its boarded up slumber over 30 years ago and that is billed as the oldest dance hall in Texas, even though others dispute that claim. One thing that cannot be disputed is that Gruene Hall features tremendously talented musicians and has a large beer garden for cooling off from all the dancing that goes on inside. If you go inside the dance hall during the daytime go stand on the stage where Raul Malo, Bo Diddley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Merle Haggard, Ernest Tubb, Jerry Jeff Walker and many, many more have played. Also has horseshoe pits and a basketball hoop (thanks to Hal Ketchum) that serves as a magnet for those who have had one too many. Take Gruene Road from Loop 337 out of New Braunfels.
