Ask the folks here which is older, Fischer Hall or Gruene Hall and then you decide. Looks a little like a chicken coop from the outside but it is pure Central Texas dance hall inside. They have quite a few horseshoe pits outside as well. Call in advance to get a schedule of upcoming events open to the public. Located next to the 9-pin bowling alley in Fischer. From Wimberley, take RR 12 and then head west on 32. Look for the sign at the intersection with 484 and turn right. Make another right onto Fischer Store Road/CR 181. Or you can take 2325 heading west from Wimberley and turn left onto Fischer Store Road/CR 181.

if you ever get the chance to go dancing at fischer hall, count yourself lucky and don't hesitate. you can see starlight through the slats in the walls and the dance floor is magical.
