This crossing has a really nice play area just upstream from Common Street on the Guadalupe River in New Braunfels. It is a great place to swim, hang out in tubes, or just frolic in the spillway. It is a good example of one of those old-time swimming holes free to the public that sits smack dab in the middle of town. You need to access it from River Acres Park, which you get to by heading south on Fair Lane from Common Street. This park is also a nice place to bring a picnic lunch for you to enjoy after you go play in the pool formed by the small dam on the river.
