Canyon of the Eagles Nature Park

canyon of the eaglesAbout 800 of this park’s 940 acres are designated as wildlife habitat so this is a fairly undeveloped area. The LCRA park is located right on Lake Buchanan so there will be plenty of opportunities to play in the water and this is a nice place to go primitive camping, but access to the water from the campsites is a little tricky. They got the name right, because during the season there is a good chance you will be able to see some Bald Eagles here. From Burnet, take 29 west and turn right onto 2341 and follow it until it ends. The gate to the park is a little hard to see so keep your eyes open. Even though there are not many improvements to the park that can be an real advantage if you are looking for a place that won’t attract nearly the crowds as will be heading to the state parks.
