The LCRA park is located right on Lake Buchanan so there will be plenty of opportunities to play in the water, but access from the primitive campsites is a little tricky. You got the name right, during the season you might even be able to see some Bald Eagles here. From Burnet, take 29 west and turn right onto 2341 and follow it until it ends. The gate to the park is a little deceiving because there are not many improvements to the park, but that also can be an advantage if you are looking for a place that won’t be as crowded as the state parks.
