Birding and Bat Watching, Cabins and Other Lodgings, Fishing, Hiking Trails, Pet Friendly, River Outfitters, Swimming HolesLocated just outside of Burnet this 940-acre lakeside park has three miles of lakefront, 14 miles of hiking trails, canoeing, kayak rentals, swimming, fishing and campsites available for your outdoor enjoyment. There are several nature activities available here and yes, you often times can see eagles here on a seasonal basis. An added bonus is that you can bring your dog to the park for a fee. From Burnet take Highway 29 west to FM 2341. Turn right onto FM 2341 and proceed until you come to Canyon of the Eagles at the end of the road. Lodge rooms and cottages also are available here and some have a view of the lake. A restaurant and pool also are located onsite.
