Enjoy the Texas Hill Country

This is an unofficial place to take the dog for a dip and you could go for a swim as well if you are so inclined. The sign says pets must be kept on a leash and there is no swimming, but most people disregard those ordinances. This place is located on Barton Creek just downstream from the dam that creates the Barton Springs Pool. Folks love to take their dogs to this area and the dogs dig it as well. To get here, park in either the front or back parking lot for the pool, but do not go through the gate leading to the pool. Instead, stay outside of the fence and go to the downstream portion of the pool (the part nearest to the Colorado River) and walk down the hill to the creek. There are steps leading down to the creek on the main entrance side and there is a fairly steep incline leading down to the creek on the back entrance side.
