Enjoy the Texas Hill Country

Superb parking and access to the water are available at this swimming hole, but swimming conditions are of course dependent on the water levels at this crossing of the Medina River. When the water is up this is a good place to go for a swim to take a break from the summer heat. Located on Hwy 16 just north of the intersection of Hwy 16 and 470 (the road to Tarpley). This area could be used for fishing or as a put in point for a kayak trip down to the Bandera City Park located approximately 5.5 miles downstream. Most of this stretch of the river should be fairly flat. Contact the Medina River Company for river flow, kayak rental and put in and take out information.
