Enjoy the Texas Hill Country

This isolated 320-acre Travis County park has about two miles of lake frontage on the banks of Lake Travis. The park is not as heavily used as some of the other parks on the lake and it offers primitive camping, swimming, fishing and there is a shaded campground located along a bluff. There is a pretty nice view of the lake from some of the campsites. There also are two big coves and a fair amount of cliffs at this park, but be careful if you jump into the water because you could smash yourself to pieces if you hit a rock or some other obstruction. Don’t scoff, it has happened before. Dogs on a leash are OK at this park. From Highway 183, take FM 1431 south for 11 miles to Lohmans Ford Road. Turn left on Lohmans Ford Road and go 4 1/2 miles to Sylvester Ford Road. Turn left on Sylvester Ford Road then go 1 1/2 miles to the park entrance.
