andys river tubes 2This is one of several popular campground and tube rental outfits located close to the Guadalupe River at the famous Horseshoe where the water is always cold and refreshing. At this location there is about a one-mile run of the Guadalupe River that crosses FM 306 in the shape of a half circle, hence the name. The crossings are close enough together so that you can take a short walk back up to the top of the Shoe to the first crossing for another float trip down to the second crossing. The outfitter is located upstream from dam number 2 and dam number 3. This is a very popular place for tubing. When you are finished here you could go to The Shanty for some suds if you are thirsty. If you don’t feel like going on a floating trip you can just go for a swim in the river and hang out at the campground. Just like all the campgrounds along River Road and at the Horseshoe this place can get very crowded in the summer.  If you are going to camp here the best time to do it is the spring and fall.  Non-aggressive dogs on a leash are OK. Take FM 306 from New Braunfels towards Canyon Lake. Located at the intersection of State Road 2673 at the Horseshoe.
