New meets old at this icehouse located in the booming megalopolis of Albert, population 4 according to the sign. The town was recently purchased, that's right it was sold, so come out and say hello to the new owners. There are some huge oak trees out back with some picnic tables, a deck and a covered pavilion for your lounging pleasure. The dance hall should be opening up in the spring time so be sure to check and see who will be playing. You might want to consider renting out the whole "town" if you are wanting to throw a wedding or some other big shindig. This is a good place to go after you hang out on Ranch Road 1 or take a gander at the wildlife and flowers around the LBJ Parks. Heading west on Hwy 290 from Johnson City, turn to the left (south) at the Hye Post Office onto CR 206 (aka Hye-Albert Rd) and then turn right onto 1623.
