Enjoy the Texas Hill Country

This crossing is located just south of Utopia and just west of State Road 187 on the sweet little Sabinal River. The crossing access is at the Utopia Park and you can use the park for a put in point for a six mile paddle trip down to 187. The park also features a nice swimming hole when the water is up. There are a number of ledges and small rapids along this part of the stream. Contact Lost Maples for river flow information in the area before heading out this way. Even though the Sabinal is a nice little stream for paddling purposes, it often runs very low to not at all during the dry times of the year. You could go over to Garner if the water is too low for your liking at the crossing.
